Ceramic and Felt Installation 160cm x 80cm
HUNGER GAMES is a mosaic installation in the abstract, geometric tradition. It explores the physical, emotional dimensions and history of BREADFRUIT.
The artwork will serve as the centrepiece of a new five-piece body of work Polynesian Series aimed at exhibition in Australia and internationally.
HUNGER GAMES is three dimensional: Each colour group is protruding in incremental steps to create depth and movement.
The mosaic will comprise:
100 ceramic tiles
38 felt tiles
97kg of clay and
2kg of wool
For the creation of the ceramic and felt tiles I will collaborate with master artisans from Marrakech, Morocco:
